The Ocean Foundation, a DC-based non-profit international community foundation is looking for a Development Manager to join our team!

As the only community foundation for the ocean, The Ocean Foundation raises every dollar we spend and operates without an endowment. The Development Manager will identify and cultivate donations to serve as unrestricted revenue to support The Ocean Foundation’s overall operations. The Development Manager will report to the Chief Development Officer, and will work as part of a small development team that also includes a Donor Management and Gift Processing Associate.

The development team is housed within the External Relations Team in order to facilitate dynamic coordination and collaboration with marketing and communications colleagues to maximize integrated digital fundraising opportunities.

The position will be responsible for the acquisition and retention of diverse sources of revenue, including (1) individuals, (2) foundations, (3) corporate and (4) government funders. The Development Manager will develop and execute annual giving and major gifts programs and campaigns. This position will also supervise the Donor Management and Gift Processing Associate whose administration and CRM work supports both the Development Manager, the Chief Development Officer and External Relations Director.
